As a front office assistant, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: checking clients in and out, answering and returning phone calls, scheduling appointments, following up with clients, e-mailing, scanning and virtual faxing, light cleaning, and assisting the doctor with various tasks. Prior experience in a medical/mental health or other professional setting is required, and knowledge of HIPAA, confidentiality, privacy, etc is essential.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and proficient with the internet, smartphones, computers, and basic office equipment. You will be working with individuals of all different backgrounds, ages, genders, and disabilities, so we're looking for someone who is comfortable interacting with a diverse population and can maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism at all times. You'll also have the opportunity to assist with proofreading documents, editing, and managing sensitive documents.

The position requires reliable transportation, punctuality, and the ability to stand for one hour or more and lift up to 35 pounds if necessary. Most communication with the office manager, the doctor, and clients will be done by e-mail, text, and phone calls, so you should be comfortable with remote communication and in-person. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not mandatory.
